What Are Signs of a Bad Car Battery A bad car battery is pretty easy to identify. What I've noticed is that when RCL is pressed, the clock displays 1:00 for about 5-7 seconds and then turns off. Remember to take any old batteries to a hazardous waste collection site. LOC or ERROR don't display on the screen either. I've already replaced the fuse and that wasn't the problem.
